Membership

 

The members of the council shall be the subscribers to the memorandum of association, and such other persons as members shall apply for admission, and be admitted as members by the council.

 At the next meeting of the officers of the executive body after the receipt of any application for membership, such application shall be considered by the executive who shall thereupon determine upon the admission or rejection of the applicant. 

                                          

SUBSCRIPTION

Every member of the council shall pay and annual subscription to the council based on type of registed member, which shall become due on the 1st. day of January in respect of the ensuring year.

 

SESSER OF MEMBERSHIP ON NON-PAYMENT OF SUBSCRIPTION

 If any members fail to pay his subscription for any year within one month of the same becoming due, the secretary shall notify him of the fact, and if any members fail to pay his subscription for any year within three months of the same becoming due, he shall ipso facto cease to be a member of the council, but shall be eligible for re-admission upon payment of all arrears due from him while a member and of the amount of the subscriptions that would have been due from him if he had continue a member up to the time of his re-admission.

      

Number of Members

Section   1             The National Kriol Council of Belize (hereinafter called “The Council”)     

                                for the purpose of registering declared to consist of 10 subscribing

                                members. 

 Section   2             The officer hereinafter mentioned may register an increase of

                                members.

 Registration of Members

Section   1      The council shall keep records of its members, therein shall be entered  the following:

                                            i.      The names, addresses and the occupation of each member;

                                            ii.      The date at which each person became a member;

                                            iii.   The date at which a member cease to be one.

 Membership and Dues

  Section   1             Any person who submits to the Memorandum of Association and    

                                  articles of Association may become a  member, on paying and    

                                  entrance fee.  Such fee to be determined by the Officers.

 

 Section    2          There shall be provision for honorary membership. An honorary  

                               member is one who is active in the council but cannot afford to meet  

                              the stipulated fees or who can only afford a fraction of the stipulation

                              fees.  Honorary members have no voting privilege. Members are  

                               expected to participate actively in the council.  The Council shall create

                              standing committees in such areas as economic development, youth  

                              and women development, cultural and historical awareness and

                              whatever area it seems necessary. Such committees may be on a

                              temporary base.

                               The Council shall have a circular seal on which shall be inscribed its  

                              name with the word and figures  “Incorporated 1995”. The impression

                              may be made and attested by the President, the Secretary, a Director

                               or such other person, whom may be authorized by the executive. The

                               secretary shall be the custodian of the seal.

 Membership Packages:

Executive Member
Voting rights, Policy making, make proposals for projects or activities – participate in key decision making issues of the council (maybe any change in the constitution), Can be elected to the National Executive, (all other benefits)

Corporate Member
Has voting rights but only 1 vote (all other benefits)

Associate Member
 Voting rights in General elections –(*allother benefits)


Supporters

No voting rights but supports the mission of the Council  


*other benefits include discount on products, Newsletters, T-Shirt, Updates, participation in seminars and forums, yearly membership card.
